Another Compilation
to hit the streets in 2001 is
Ventura Records' latest CD, "EuroFreestyle Volume I." This CD brings
Freestyle to a new level with hard hitting beats such as the infamous
"Planet Rock Beat" mixed in with the new TECHNO type sound in
it. However, the CD does have alot of Old school beats to bring one
back when Freestyle was King.
The CD is compiled
with 18 blazing tracks with producers such as Stephan Distel, DJ Pasi,
the talent team of Kalvin Madison which also includes the very talent
JUERGEN BLATZ (of Officer & Elios fame), and of course the very Legendary
Freestyle Duo, E. Molina and Mickey Garcia.

The MicMac crew appears their with an updated rendition of Johnny O's
classic anthem, "Fantasy Girl". Though many Freestyle fans including
myself do no agree the way ZYX Music has re-done Johnny's song with
many horrible singers, I will say that this version is a much better
one and the beat is OUTSTANDING.
We see many new faces on this compilation such as Fantasy Boy, Five
of Ten, Romeo, Freestyle Masters, and Lady K. Cee just to name a few,
but one that particulartly stands out to me is the vocals on one named,
NAD. The song, "Don't Go Away", is done quite well in relation to the
rest of the CDs tracks by the Freestyle singer and has a great beat
and is mixed accordingly.
This CD does however lack order in the sense that some of its artist,
though it has to be commended in putting in a solid effort, did not
hook up the vocals according to the beat and missed what I feel could
have gone from an OK CD to a GREAT one. But with that said, Freestylemania
gives it 1 out of 5 STARs and recommends every TRUE freestyle fan to
preview it before buying it. However, on the flip side, we do strongly
urge you to go out and get it cause like the Great GEORGE LAMOND said
on a ClubFreestyle.com
interview, "If you don't by the product then you cannot give support
needed to keep Freestyle alive and thats the bottom line!"
