The name Miguel Reyes may not seem familiar
to many dance music fans, but this artist has been in the music
industry nearly 20 years. Forming Afecta Records in 1987 was the
beginning of great learning experience for Miguel. In 1990, his
group Full Afekt released their first single “Remember The
Days.” The group went on and released three more singles
entitled, "Don’t Leave Me Now," "Out Of My
Mind," and "Distant Memory" a collaboration with
fellow artist and good friend Sammy-C. Even though releases from
Afekta were under limited release, the songs have become great
freestyle dance classics still heard today.
Miguel grew up in South Jersey in a loving family
of seven. His interest in singing came at a very early age and
he quickly developed an appreciation in various styles of music.
Miguel’s cites influence as diverse as The Jackson 5, Journey,
Shalamar, Phil Collins, 80’s real school hip hop, R&B
dance classics, and 80’s classic rock.
Miguel continued writing songs and pursued his career
as a solo artist. He signed on with an independent record label
out of
Philadelphia. His first release “Those Were The Times”
earned him immediate recognition and led to many performance opportunities
and radio airplay throughout the Northeast and Midwest states.
With the success of "Those Were The Times," Miguel was
given the opportunity to release his first debut album entitled,
"May & Everything After." Miguel has been singing
and performing in a variety of venues throughout his career. With
his exceptional improvising vocal abilities, as well as songwriting
skills, Miguel is poised to share his gifted talent with the world.
Currently, Miguel continues to write songs and is
inspired daily by his family and by the experiences that the heavenly
father leads him through. His enthusiasm while singing allows
the smoothness of his voice to capture the audience with his words.
Miguel’s upcoming project will surely touch
audiences and bring a host of new enthusiasts as well. |
