It wasn’t an easy road to fame for Jennifer Glass....as with most artists, she has paid her dues for many years. Born Jennifer Helen Glass in Saratoga Springs, New York, she grew up in an environment filled with music. Not only was her mother (Nancy) an accomplished pianist, but Saratoga Springs is known for its culture and is home of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). At the age of six Jennifer began taking piano lessons but soon found that she preferred to use her voice to make music. Throughout her school years she participated in church and school choirs. She had many solos through the years at her church with her mother accompanying on piano. Singing wasn’t the only thing that Jennifer loved to do. Dancing quickly became a favorite activity also. She began taking jazz dance lessons and excelled to the top of her class. In high school Jennifer was a member of the select choir, the "Choraliers" during her junior and senior years. After graduating from high school, Jennifer went on to college at SUNY Cobleskill where she earned the female lead role in the musical "Carousel" after her very first acting audition. Her portrayal of Julie Jordan earned her outstanding reviews and Jennifer hopes to return to acting some day. After college Jennifer joined a Top40 band in the Albany area and sang a variety of cover tunes in hotels and clubs in the region. Eventually Jennifer knew that she would have to relocate in order to pursue her dreams fully. Her love of pop music and dancing led her to central Florida where the pop music scene was exploding. Jennifer spent a few years working on her skills and gaining experience performing live wherever she could until she got her first professional singing job as a Madonna impersonator on a casino cruise ship. Although she wanted desperately to be singing her own music, she gained a lot of valuable experience while portraying the "Material Girl". Feeling like she had gone as far as she could with impersonating, Jennifer decided she had to move on and found herself a steady paycheck as the lead singer in a top 40 band. She sang a wide variety of pop songs and gained a tremendous amount of experience singing with a live band and really discovered who she was as an entertainer. In May 2003, Jennifer ran in to an old acquaintance (Marty True of Power Jamn Productions) who informed her that he might be able to help her with her singing career. After one meeting to discuss the possibility of him becoming her manager, they had an appointment to meet with executives at Caliber Records, an independent production label in Orlando, Fl. Two weeks after their initial meeting Jennifer began recording what would become a six song CD of all original tracks she wrote herself. Working with producer Christian Dio, Jennifer created a dynamic and powerful variety of pop/dance songs including her debut release "Dreamin". Still an unsigned artist Jennifer’s single was released, nationwide, in August 2003 by Caliber Records and Power Jamn Productions. |
