NEW YORK CITY NATIVE, DENGEL grew up during the Latin Freestyle era in the 80’s and 90’s. At the age 13, DENGEL began writing Spanish house music on what’stoday known as Latin Underground. So young, DENGEL at the time known as “WILLIE D”, began his career in Puerto Rico Performing in many Latin carnivals across the island with the help of many known DJ’s. DENGEL gain recognition and popularity for his dancing moves and his unique style of singing and rapping in Spanish and English, giving his music a unique touch. Later DENGEL move back to NEW YORK CITY (Washington Heights) were he join Alianza Dominica community center, to take vocals lesson and dance classes. DENGEL gaining more musical experience continued Singing and Performing in Clubs, Street Festivals, and Public Schools. Eventually, DENGEL caught the attention of The legendary TONY (Dr. Edit) GARCIA from “HIGH POWER RECORDS”. DENGEL then began his professional musical career with the help of JOSE COLLAZO A.K.A (BLAKROZE) known as the group NADAMAS. Together they created the hit single “THAT HOOCHIE” available on High Power Greatest hits Vol. 4, where it became one of the most popular single played in Dallas Texas in 1997. DENGEL
then went on his own and his Interest grew into producing his own music. Soon after that he began to teach himself how to play keyboards, drum machines, and other type of studio digital equipment. DENGEL’s new up coming album, consist of seduction, love, and pain, bringing his audience closer to his own real life experiences. DENGEL now with the help of Alexis F. Baldrich, AKA DJ Merk One, PRODUCES and WRITES all his songs. Together they will bring a new world of
dance music around the country.
