| How did you get started? Or how did you get discover? | I got started in the industry when Dj Juanito got a hold of a demo tape of mine, he really liked the "hook" and booked a flight for me to audition at the Groove Nation Studios, I was thrilled. His studio was HUGE, it was like a Penthouse with 2 offices, a mini warehouse, a recording studio and on, and on. |
| People know Alexis now that the album is released, but tell us of your previous works with Dj Juanito. | I did write and record 2 other songs for Dj Juanito: "Just Let Go" and "You Are The One." Dj Juanito is a perfectionist when it comes to the recording studio. He pushed my vocals and was very persistent with the delivery of EVERY note. I got to give it to him, he taught me to expect only the best. We shot our video for "Feel My Love" in Mexico and also at the Sound Factory. It was really hard work, but I loved every minute of it. |
| Growing up did you ever picture yourself where you are now? | Growing up I pictured myself like Selena HUGE... I am still working on it. I love to perform to be honest with you I have never had a show where I got booed (Knock on wood) I have heard some horror stories from big artists in the industry... I just pray and give it up to God. |
| Can we expect a full length Alexis album in Spanish? | I was approached by a Latin Record label, and Yes I love my roots and to be honest with you it's much easier to sing in Spanish than English, right now we are focusing on promoting our Full length album "The Rhythm" yes I know spelled "The Rythm" (we got a little sassy!) but I do see myself crossing over someday. We have a Latin house track "Quiero Bailar" and I LOVED singing that I really felt it in my Soul, you know? |
| Any advice for artist trying to make it in this business? | I want everyone to know that it takes alot of hard work, dedication and perseverance to make it in the music industry, to anyone trying to make it in this industry, don't EVER stop trying!!! Look at Carlos Santana, after ALL these years "Our Star" finally got recognition after years of brilliance. Anything worth doing is worth waiting for. |
